Reflection
For my English Final Project, I needed to write a sci-fi narrative of my own. I sincerely thought that it was going to be hard and long, but actually it was very fun, and I had a great time doing it. The project consisted of two parts: the traditional narrative and the digital narrative. For the traditional narrative, I needed to do a brainstorm in which I searched and look back at the science fiction elements for figuring out which ones my story was going to contain. Then, I chose the societal issues that were on what my story will be based. I also decided on my characters, the conflict, and my setting to make sure they were well described in my narrative. I did my first draft, and during class we did peer editing. After the feedback I received from my mates Paloma and Mariana, I realized that my story was well written, but I needed to correct some small mistakes. I made corrections and included more detail and the adequate format. Finally, I printed my story and hand it in during class.
By the other hand, the process for doing my digital narrative was kind of different. For this part, I needed to draw my scenes, so I could have an idea in my head on how they will look like in the actual video. Besides, I needed to search for the corresponding music and sounds I was going to add to every scene. Then, I started looking out in the internet for some videos and images to add to my video. I also took out my barbie dolls' stuff for creating my scenes. I organized my scenes one by one in the floor with the barbie stuff, and took pictures and videos from each one of them and put them all on iMovie. I finally added the music that I had already downloaded and I recorded my voice so it sounded as a narrator.
Both of my projects have a lot in common but they are also different from each other. First of all, the content of both is the same because they come from the same person, me. I did first the traditional narrative with my creativity and my ideas and later, I did my video based on it. On both of my works, I tried to be extremely creative and use my imagination for realizing them. If you have the chance of seeing the two of them, you"ll see that they are made in the same order. The narrative that I wrote has an order depending on the plot. So for doing my video, I had very present that order for making sure it was very similar to the original story. They are obviously different because one is written and the other one is digital. For the traditional narrative, I only wrote what I was thinking, but for the video, I used many more resources such as the internet, markers, drawings, sounds and music, and even dolls.
I had some difficulties and pleasures at the time of doing both of my works. For the written narrative, I needed to think very deep for figuring out my theme and my plot. It was very hard to choose what my story was going to be about and which sci-fi elements I was going to include. By the other hand, doing some drawings was kind of difficult for me because I am not the best artist, but I tried my best for drawing what I needed in a very clear and neat form. Adding the corresponding music and voice records to each scene was also hard because I needed to be very concentrated on which sound was with which scene so I didn't mess up. As well as recording my voice on every scene, because I needed to measure the speed from when I talked to make sure it was the same length as the duration of each scene. Even-though I had my difficulties making my project, I also had lots of fun. I got to be created and use a lot my imagination shaped towards science fiction, which is the theme we've been talking in English class for a while. The best part of this project was that I got to expressed myself in an unique and original idea, by using my toys from when I was little. Working with this stuff that I haven't seen in years, definitely took me back to my infant life to revive many moments full of laughter when I was just a little girl.

Artist's Statement
The Vampires, are a very important topic for me. I think that the significance of them to me is huge. Since I started watching the series of Vampire Diaries I was amazed. The way the vampires' lives are described in this tv show is amazing. I love the way the vampires act and think and perhaps, I believe they might exist. I also believe a lot in one of the principal characters who is Stefan (who my poem is about) because he is actually a good vampire and he is so romantic and nice. I can tell that I am somehow obsessed with this series because since the day I first saw the first chapter, I couldn't stop watching it. I want the readers to understand my "different" way of seeing and explaining epic stuff. I want them also to read well the poem and to really try to contemplate the idea of start watching Vampire Diaries too, because I know they won't regret it. Because they would feel trap with what I wrote and they wouldn't be able to escape from that magic topic that I described.
The Vampire Diaries
1. Scary mouths are full of sucked human blood
2. The deep red pigment drips from their sharp fangs
3. Dead bodies in the road look like a flood
4. Upon translucent skin descend the gangs
5. For centuries I have lived in secret
6. I have come back to show I’m not evil
7. Feeding on animals shows my merit
8. I have been here since the age Medieval
9. Her face, angelic, when it I first saw
10. I had to chase her since the break of dawn
11. Talked to her and hoped she would not withdraw
12. I told her my secret and she was gone
13. I gained her confidence and she was mine
14. Now everything between us is just fine

This project is an sparknotes. It is about the book we read the past quarter. We were divided into groups on which we all read the same book. In my case, my group and I read Looking for Alaska by John Green. Each friday, we did discussions and talked about the book. We at the end, collected each one´s discussion papers and made a big project. Off course we divided the work, for example, one of use did connections, the other one did themes, the other one talked about the author and the other one talked about the genre of the book. With this project, we learned to improve more our writing and to get better at our reading comprehension level. I think you will enjoy this sparknotes, because it is detailed and has new information that you will discover about the book.
